District Administration Drass Conducts Cleanliness Drive at the Riverside in Masjid Gam, Drass.
Drass, July 01, 2026: Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Drass, Imteeaz Kacho, the District Administration today organised a cleanliness drive at the riverside area of Masjid Gam, Drass. The entire exercise was led and supervised by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Drass, Vishal Atri, with active participation of officials of various Government Departments apart from some civilians. The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the need for collective efforts and community participation for strict implementation of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026.
The initiative was aimed at cleaning the riverside, removing accumulated waste and raising awareness about the importance of maintaining clean water bodies and public spaces. Officials worked collectively to collect and properly dispose of solid waste thus contributing towards the preservation of the area’s natural beauty and ecological balance.
Speaking on the occasion, SDM Vishal Atri emphasized that keeping river and public spaces clean is a collective responsibility and urged citizens to actively participate in such initiatives. He appealed to the public to refrain from littering, dispose of waste responsibly and support the District Administration in its efforts to ensure a clean, healthy and sustainable environment.
The cleanliness drive reflects the commitment of the District Administration od Drass towards environmental conservation, sanitation and public awareness. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that similar drives will continue to be organized across the District on a regular basis with the active involvement of Government Departments, students, stake holders and the local community. Further, he appreciated the sincere efforts of the SDM for having taken the lead in the exercise and the efforts of all officials and locals who participated in the the campaign
