District Child Protection Unit Kargil Conducts Joint Inspection to Eradicate Child Labour.
Kargil, May 28, 2025 – The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Kargil, in collaboration with the Labour Department, Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU), Child Welfare Committee (CWC), and Childline Kargil, conducted a joint inspection campaign this month at various construction sites in Sankoo and Taisuru.
This campaign was part of a concerted effort to identify and prevent instances of child labour and to ensure the rights and welfare of children are upheld in accordance with the law.
During the inspection, officials engaged with shopkeepers, contractors, and community members to raise awareness about the legal and moral implications of child labour, and emphasized the importance of education for every child.
The District Administration reiterates its commitment to safeguarding child rights and calls upon all stakeholders, including the public, to support the vision of a child-labour-free Kargil.
