    Kargil, August 17, 2026: A specialized training workshop for religious clerics was organized today by the District De-addiction Centre, under the aegis of District Social Welfare Department, focusing on identifying the signs and symptoms of drug abuse and understanding its harmful effects on physical health, mental health, family life, and society. The main objective of the program is to empower leaders to effectively deliver awareness messages to the broader community.
    Aga Syed Hassan, Counselor from the Department of Mental Health, along with a psychologist from the District De-addiction Centre, served as the key resource persons. They delivered a PowerPoint presentation covering critical aspects of the substance abuse crisis, including a detailed overview of the different types of drugs currently used in our society, practical methods for identifying drug-abusing individuals through behavioral and physical changes, crucial guidelines and precautions regarding the misuse of prescription medicines.
    The training emphasized the pivotal role of religious scholars play in community intervention, urging them to use their platforms to spread preventive education and guide affected individuals toward clinical recovery.
