District Legal Services Authority Kargil celebrates Legal Services Day.
Kargil, November 09, 2025: District Legal Services Authority Kargil celebrated Legal Services Day today on at Conference Hall, Baroo. Chief Judicial Magistrate Kargil Mr. Wangial Tsering, Secretary DLSA Mr Chemit Yurgyal, President Bar Member Mr. Reyaz Ahmed Khan, Panel Lawyers, Assistant LADC Adv Nissar Hussain, District court Staff Members and Para Legal Volunteers were present on the occasion.
Advocate Kaneez Fatima, Panel Lawyer DLSA Kargil delivered the welcome address and spoke on the importance of the day as on this day in the year 1995, the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 came into force, to ensure justice, equality and access to Legal Aid regardless of their background or social status.
Ms. Khairun Nissa Para Legal Volunteer deliberated in her speech on the role of Para Legal Volunteer in providing Legal Aid to people in need.
Advocate Haji Ghulam Murtaza deliberated in his speech upon the role of Panel Lawyer in providing Legal Aid to people in need.
Shri. Chemit Yurgyal Secretary, District Legal Services Authority in his address explained to the audience about the role of the Legal Services Authorities in access to justice. He also spoke on the importance of the Legal Aid Defense Counsel Scheme and various others schemes under National Legal Services Authority. On the occasion he also highlighted the activities carried by DLSA Kargil through power point presentation and also thanked the all Panel Lawyers, Para Legal Volunteers associated with the DLSA Kargil for carrying out the work with dedication and sincerity.
Advocate Reyaz Ahmad Khan President Bar Association Kargil spoke on the occasion highlighting the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 in providing access to justice to all the citizens by taking advantages of all the welfare schemes and availing the benefits of Right to free education, good infrastructure, road connectivity, clean drinking water and other facilities provided by the government under various social welfare schemes.
Mr. Wangial Tsering Chief Judicial Magistrate Kargil, in his closing address expressed on the importance of the day in delivering justice to marginalized section of the society and to have equal access to justice as per the various schemes included in the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987. He also discussed upon the various provisions imbibed in our constitution which ensures equality. He also stressed that the activities of the Legal Services Authorities should include the need of understanding the problems of the people with compassion and humane touch.
In the end Mr. Nissar Hussain, Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel, Kargil presented the vote of thanks.
