District Police Kargil Organizes Debate Competition under Civic Action Programme.
Kargil, June 15, 2026: Under the directions and guidance of Shri Nitin Yadav, IPS, SSP Kargil, District Police Kargil organized a Debate Competition on the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat” at District Police Lines, Kargil, under its Civic Action Programme to create awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
Students from various Government and Private Schools and Colleges across Kargil District participated enthusiastically and shared their views on tackling the menace of substance abuse. The participants emphasized the need for awareness, community involvement, parental support, religious outreach, and grassroots-level interventions to make Ladakh drug-free. The programme witnessed healthy and thought-provoking discussions, with participants highlighting the importance of collective responsibility in combating drug abuse.
The programme was moderated by Mr. Sajjad (Bob) and managed by Team Stringmo under the leadership of Ms. Zaibun Nissa. The debate was judged by Dr. Imtiyaz Ali Kharpa, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, Government Degree College Kargil, and Mr. Abazar, Assistant Professor, Government Degree College Kargil.
The concluding ceremony was attended by Shri Ghulam Mohammad, JKAS, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Kargil, who distributed certificates and appreciation tokens among the winners and participants and lauded the initiative of District Police Kargil.
In the competition, Ms. Zahida Banoo (GHSS Pashkum) secured First Position, Ms. Fatima Nissa (GGHSS Kargil) secured Second Position, and Ms. Nusrat Fatima (GHSS Pashkum) secured Third Position. All the winners were felicitated with certificates and cash prizes in recognition of their outstanding performances.
The participating students expressed their gratitude to District Police Kargil, especially SSP Kargil Shri Nitin Yadav, for organizing such meaningful programmes and providing youth from across Kargil with valuable platforms to express their views and contribute towards social awareness.
