District Youth Services and Sports Office Observes “Month of Compassion” with Community Initiatives

LEH, July 23, 2025: The District Youth Services and Sports Officer observed the “Month of Compassion,” a dedicated period marked by a series of impactful welfare and cleanliness activities aimed at fostering empathy towards animals and the environment, while simultaneously raising public awareness.
Throughout the month, the department undertook several commendable initiatives. These included distribution of food to stray dogs, extending from the office area all the way to Shey Village, demonstrating a commitment to animal welfare. Fish were released into the river (Tsethar), symbolizing a reverence for nature and its inhabitants. Furthermore, a comprehensive cleanliness drive was conducted in and around the office premises, as well as in Skampari areas.
The activities, carried out with enthusiasm and community participation, successfully highlighted the importance of compassion towards all living beings and the critical need for environmental stewardship.
