    Zanskar, November 5, 2025: In a heartwarming moment for the people of Sani, Sou, and Gonyok villages, the Hon’ble Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Er. Phunchok Tashi, today inaugurated the newly constructed Community Hall at Gonyok Sani and Monks’ Stay Facility (Shak) at Khar Sani, built by the Rural Development Department (RDD), Zanskar.
    The event marked a new chapter of community growth, harmony, and cultural pride for the people of Sani, as it became the third community hall completed in the area—one each at Sou, Sani, and Gonyok.
    The ceremony was attended by BDO Zanskar Ali Yabgo, Executive Engineer ZDA/R&B Er. Vilayat Ali, Assistant Executive Engineer REW Madam Fiza Bano, other concerned officers including the AEE and JE, Lambardar Thinlay, and a large gathering of local residents, monks, and community leaders.
    Renowned Ladakhi artist Phunsok Ladakhi added a vibrant touch to the celebration with his soulful performance, filling the atmosphere with joy and cultural pride.
    In his address, Hon’ble EC Phunchok Tashi expressed happiness to see the people of Sou and Sani coming together for this special occasion. He shared that the newly built community hall would serve as a space for social gatherings, meetings, and cultural events, while the monastic stay facility would provide a peaceful and comfortable place for monks stationed at Khar.
    He emphasized that such projects are not just about constructing buildings but about connecting people, strengthening communities, and preserving Ladakh’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
    While addressing the gathering, Er. Phunchok Tashi conveyed his gratitude to the UT Administration, LAHDC Kargil, the executing agency, and contractor Mr. Stanzin Tsultim for completing the project within a single working season.
    He also mentioned various ongoing projects in the holy land of Sani, Zanskar, which include: Link Road (LR) from Khar to Namkasesa with an estimated cost of ₹2 crore, Walling around Sani Lake with an estimated cost of ₹1.5 crore, Community Hall at Gonyok with an estimated cost of ₹1.2 crore, Shelter for sheep with an estimated cost of ₹30 lakh, and Several other small works under CCDA at Chomo Gonpa, Khar, Sou, and Sani villages, covering almost all the demands put forth by the villagers.
    On behalf of the people of Sani, Lambardar Thinlay expressed deep gratitude to Hon’ble EC Phunchok Tashi for fulfilling their long-pending demands. Many locals shared that the new community hall would bring the village together and make it easier to organize social and cultural programs.
    The inauguration concluded with traditional prayers and words of thanks to the Hon’ble Executive Councillor and his team for their sincere dedication to rural development and community welfare. Smiles, songs, and blessings marked the event as the people of Sani celebrated this new symbol of unity and progress under the leadership of Er. Phunchok Tashi.
