EC Punchok Tashi visits Barden monastery.
Padum, August 07, 2025: Er Punchok Tashi Hon’ble Executive Councilor RDD/PRI and Zanskar Development Authority, LAHDC Kargil visited the Barden monestary to take on spot final inspection prior to tendering and start newly approved work for conservation/development of amenities at Barden Gonpa Zanskar with site development for tourist and pilgrims.
During his visit, Er. Punchok Tashi along with Head Lama of Barden Gonpa and Engineers
of R&B/ZDA discussed about the plan proposal submitted by consultant D’Himalayan Architect and also inspected the respective sites as per the plan.
Er Tashi informed that the project costing Rs 2.49 cr has been approved under Zanskar
Development Authority for the year 2025-26 along with the same nature of work and cost for Phuktal Monestary also.
The monks of Barden monestary requested Honble Executive Councilor to include major necessary works of renovation under the scheme and further requested to start the works this year. EC ZDA has directed Executive Engineer ZDA to invite tendering of the work at an earliest after obtaining AAA.
Er. Punchok Tashi and the entire team of Engineers were given warm reception by the monks.
