EC Zakir Hussain visits government schools in Minjee.
Kargil, Nov 09, 2023: Executive Councillor, Education, LAHDC Kargil, Zakir Hussain along with Baroo-Minjee Constituency Councillor Khadim Hussain today visited several government schools of Minjee.
The visit encompassed a series of inspections at educational institutions, affirming the dedication of the council to elevate the standard of education.
The schools covered during this tour included Govt. Middle School Gound Minjee, Govt. High School Minjee, Govt. Middle School Gongma Minjee, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidhyala, Minjee, Govt. Middle School Gramthang, Govt. Primary School, Groung Minjee, and Govt. Model School Titichumik.
At GMS Gound Minjee, the local residents voiced their concerns and presented their requests, which encompassed the conversion of the school into a Council Model School, the appointment of class 4 staff, the introduction of Smart Classes, heating facilities, subject-specific teachers and overall infrastructure improvement for the school.
Similarly, the visit to Govt. High School Minjee revealed a pressing need for an MSC qualified teacher, additional teaching staff, a computer teacher, water facilities during the winter months, heating facilities, and augmentation of the school budget.
The other schools visited witnessed appeals for enhanced infrastructure, better restroom facilities, playgrounds, access to electricity, and the construction of additional buildings at Govt. Middle School Gramthang.
While responding to the concerns, the Executive Councillor issued on-the-spot directives to the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kargil for the immediate deployment of teachers.
The CEO pledged to provide Urdu and Hindi teachers and assured the appointment of class 4 staff, subject to adherence to guidelines and availability of posts.
The EC advocated for the adoption of Gramthang School with the support of the local community, highlighting Council’s commitment to push education in the region.
The EC emphasized that under the leadership of Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, the LAHDC Kargil is unwavering in its commitment to improve education.
He assured that all matters will be resolved in a phased manner, while other demands will be considered for inclusion in the financial plan for the year 2024-25. He reassured the full support of the council in this endeavour.
During the visit, the EC was accompanied by Chief Education Officer, Kargil, Mushtaq Ahmad, and Councillor Baroo-Minjee Constituency, Khadim Hussain.
