EC Zakir Hussain visits Primary Model School Groung Choskore.
Kargil, November 12, 2023: Executive Councilor, Education, LAHDC, Kargil, Zakir Hussain today visited Primary Model School Groung Choskore.
Councilor Choskore, Nasir Husain Munshi, Chief Education Officer Kargil, Mushtaq Ahmad, Executive Engineer R&B Kargil, Sadiq Hussain, AWW and JEE of R&B, parents, Village Committee members and students were present during the visit.
The EC commended VC members, volunteers, parents, and teachers for successfully maintaining the school as it was near closure a few years ago due to low enrolment. He praised their dedication and coordination.
The EC highlighted successful government schools in his constituency, attributing their excellence to the efforts of village committee members and the aspirations of parents.
Zakir Husain emphasized that, in addition to teachers, parents bear the responsibility of creating a conducive learning environment for students at home.
He expressed that the purpose of visiting various Government Schools is to comprehend the challenges faced by both students and teachers in different schools.
The EC stated that following the conclusion of the visits, a comprehensive master plan will be prepared for all government schools to elevate education and enhance its quality.
EC Zakir emphasized that education stands as top priority for LAHDC Kargil, underscoring the commitment to facilitate essential positive developments soon.
Councilor Choskore Nasir Hussain Munshi commended VC members, parents, and students for sustaining the school’s functionality. He pledged support to VC members and parents for the continued development of the school’s infrastructure.
He expressed his goal to transform the primary school into a model institution, encouraging other primary and middle schools to strive for excellence and match its standards.
He also announced that three schools in Choskore constituency—Grong, Doks, and Lobar—will be converted into a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model from the next academic year. He mentioned that a memorandum of understanding will be signed with the School Education Department to formalize this arrangement.
The Councilor assured that a computer would be provided to the school within three days. He urged the concerned school teacher to submit the specifications for the computer.
EC Zakir Husain and Councilor Nasir Munshi guaranteed the resolution of various demands, such as renaming the school as Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam School, filling teaching vacancies, providing water facilities, developing infrastructure, enhancing toilet facilities, improving playgrounds, arranging exposure tour packages, and upgrading the middle school. They assured that these issues will be addressed in a phased manner.
