EJM College wins 2nd Intercollegiate Volleyball Tourney

Leh, Oct 16: EJM College, Leh lifted the second edition of the Intercollegiate Volleyball Tournament 2022 by winning both the boys’ and girls’ categories. The 2nd Intercollegiate Volleyball tournament was organised by the Physical Education Department, University of Ladakh in collaboration with Eliezer Joldan Memorial College, Leh.
The tournament concluded with a valedictory ceremony held at EJM College in the presence of the chief guest Registrar, University of Ladakh, Prof Ashok Kumar Sharma.
Other special invitees, included Dean and Controller of Examinations, UoL, Prof Deskyong Namgyal; Principal, GDC Khaltse, Prof Stanzin Yangdol; Principal, GDC Nubra, Dr Tsering Motup; Prof Tashi Ldawa; Dawa Nurboo Joldan; Assistant Registrar, UoL, Nawang Tundup; and District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Leh, Tsering Tashi.
Chief guest Registrar UoL, Prof Sharma, appreciated the participants for displaying exemplary team spirit and congratulated all the winners and participants of the Intercollegiate Volleyball tournament.
Dean, Students Welfare, UoL, Dr Jigmat Dachen gave a detailed report on the tournament. He informed that teams from GDC Kargil, GDC Zanskar, GDC Nubra, GDC Khaltse, University of Ladakh, EJM College, Leh and Central Institute Buddhist Studies, Leh participated in the said tournament.
The winning teams of both boys’ and girls’ categories from EJM College and the runner-up boys’ team from GDC Kargil and the runner-up girls’ team from CIBS were felicitated with trophies, cash prizes and certificates.
Earlier, the Principal of EJM College, Dr Sameena Iqbal presented the welcome speech while Dr Tsering Norphel delivered the vote of thanks.
Faculties, staff and students of EJM College and sports officers/officials from the different Govt Degree Colleges and other departments of Ladakh were in attendance at the event.
