He further committed that due compensation will be given to the affected families for the loss of agricultural land and property. For families from economically weaker sections whose traditional homes were destroyed, EC Yakzee assured immediate financial assistance and rehabilitation support.
In his remarks, EC Yakzee said, We stand in solidarity with the people of Maan and Merak during this difficult time. The administration will ensure timely relief, and efforts are underway to restore basic services and infrastructure.”
He also acknowledged the swift and commendable response of the Indian Army, who played a crucial role in assisting the villagers during and after the disaster. He thanked the Army personnel for their prompt action in safeguarding lives and extending support in relief efforts.
The visit concluded with EC Yakzee directing the SDM Durbuk and Concern Departments to expedite damage assessment reports and begin restoration work at the earliest. The Hill Council remains committed to standing by the affected communities and facilitating their recovery in every possible way.
