Farmer Training Camp Organised at Nang Village.
The Department of Agriculture, Leh, organised a Farmer Training Camp at Nang Village under the scheme National Mission on Edible Oils–Oilseeds (NMEO–Oilseeds). The training programme focused on promoting sustainable farming practices, oilseed cultivation, mushroom cultivation, protected cultivation and organic input management among farmers.
The Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Leh, briefed the farmers about the importance of Natural Farming and Organic Farming, along with the package of practices for oilseed cultivation.
Miss Kunzang Dolma, Agriculture Extension Officer, Kharu, sensitised the farmers about the importance and scope of mushroom cultivation and explained various plant protection practices for effective crop management.
Miss Tsering Dolkar, Agriculture Extension Officer, Leh, briefed the farmers about the importance and cultivation of Ladakh Greenhouse, its crop calendar, and different methods of compost preparation for improving soil health and sustainable nutrient management.
The training programme provided farmers with practical knowledge and encouraged them to adopt sustainable, eco-friendly and climate-resilient agricultural practices for enhancing farm productivity and income.
