Financial Literacy Outreach Awareness Program Conducted at Diskit-NUBRA.
Crisil Foundation, in collaboration with Ladakh Rural Livelihood Mission (LRLM), conducted a Financial Literacy Outreach Awareness Program at Diskit as part of the month-long Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign launched by the Department of Financial Services (DFS).
The programme witnessed participation from Self-Help Group (SHG) members and PRI members, who were sensitized on various aspects of financial inclusion and safe financial practices.
During the awareness session, participants were informed about key financial inclusion initiatives, with special emphasis on social security schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY). The session also covered topics including inoperative bank accounts, Re-KYC, C-KYC, the importance of account nomination, and cyber fraud prevention.
In addition, participants were briefed on the Interest Subvention Scheme for timely repayment of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans, as well as self-employment schemes such as the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and the Prime Minister Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme.
Officials from J&K Bank and the State Bank of India, Diskit, delivered informative sessions on the range of financial products and banking services available to customers, while also addressing participants’ queries.
The programme was successfully coordinated by the Crisil Foundation team in close collaboration with the DMM LRLM leh, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthening financial literacy and promoting financial inclusion in the region.
