Fisheries Department distributes 27 quintals of trout feed among fish farmers of Drass

Kargil, Nov 26, 2022: Department Fisheries Kargil, UT Ladakh today on Constitution Day distributed 27 quintals of tout feed among the fish farmers of Drass, who have constructed Trout Rearing Units under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) scheme.
Assistant Director Fisheries Kargil said the department is committed to strengthening the economy of far-flung and snow-bound areas of the district by making fish rearing economically more vibrant and viable through farmer-friendly schemes.
He said the distribution of quality feed is one such scheme that would have a great impact on fish production and productivity and also provide a window of opportunity to improve their socio-economic condition to earn their livelihood.
