Five-Day Dyeing and Embroidery Training by NIFT Srinagar Commences in Leh.
Leh, September 21: A five-day training programme on Dyeing and Embroidery, organised by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Srinagar, commenced in Leh today. The programme was inaugurated by Director Industries, Shri Sonam Nurboo.
The training aims to empower local artisans with advanced skills in dyeing and embroidery, enhance traditional craftsmanship, and promote innovation, product development and entrepreneurship in Ladakh.
The initiative focuses on strengthening the handloom and handicrafts sector by equipping artisans with technical expertise, encouraging value addition, and improving the marketability of locally produced crafts.
The collaboration with NIFT Srinagar reflects the Industries and Commerce Department’s commitment to skill development, artisan empowerment, and sustainable livelihood generation, while preserving Ladakh’s rich traditional craftsmanship.
