Food Safety, Drug & Food Control Organization hosts Walkathon, Eat Right Mela in Kargil.

Kargil, Nov e 29, 2024: The Food Safety, Drug & Food Control Organization today organized a grand Walkathon and Eat Right Mela, promoting health, safety and well-being under the theme of eating right and fostering awareness about food safety in Kargil.

The day’s events kicked off with a Walkathon at 10:00 a.m., flagged off by Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Er Punchok Tashi with participants walking together to emphasize the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

The main attraction, the Eat Right Mela, commenced at 11:30 a.m. at Auditorium Hall. The Mela was inaugurated by the Executive Councillor, followed by inspection of the various stalls, highlighting the significance of food safety in our daily lives.

A felicitation ceremony took place, with the Designated Officer of Food Safety UT Ladakh honoring the guest with a traditional Khatak. Engaging activities included a short speech by the Designated Officer and a captivating performance by Kargil Theater Club.

In addition to informative sessions, the event featured a special address by the chief guest reiterating the mission of ensuring food safety and advocating for healthy eating practices. Other activities included an Eat Right Quiz etc.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Designated Officer, expressing gratitude to all participants and dignitaries from line departments.
