Foundational Learning Study (FLS) 2026 Successfully Began Across District Leh (15th–17th April 2026).
    Leh, April 15, 2026:
The Foundational Learning Study (FLS) 2026 has successfully begun from 15th April 2026 across the sampled schools of District Leh and will conclude on 17th April 2026. The assessment process is progressing in a smooth, peaceful, and well-coordinated manner, with no major technical issues reported so far.
The designated Field Investigators, along with the appointed District Level Observers, reached their respective sampled schools well in time, ensuring that the assessment commenced as per the prescribed schedule. Their coordinated efforts have ensured strict adherence to the established guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The school administrations across the district deserve special appreciation for their meticulous arrangements. Classrooms designated for the assessment were well-prepared, providing a conducive and student-friendly environment. The school staff extended full cooperation and support to the Field Investigators, thereby facilitating the seamless conduct of the assessment.
The State Level Coordinator and District Level Coordinator also visited various sampled schools to oversee the ongoing process. During their visits, they observed that the assessment was being carried out efficiently and in accordance with the prescribed norms. Interaction with participating students revealed a positive response, with many expressing that the assessment was engaging, interesting, and based on play-way and competency-based learning approaches.
An encouraging highlight during the assessment is the enthusiasm displayed by non-sampled students. Many of them expressed their willingness to participate in the assessment, reflecting their curiosity and interest. However, as per the established SOPs and protocols, participation is limited strictly to the sampled students only.
The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh expresses its sincere gratitude to Prof. Indrani Bhaduri, Head & CoE, PARAKH-NCERT, for her exemplary leadership and for developing such a well-structured, play-way and competency-based assessment questionnaire. The thoughtfully designed tools have made the assessment highly engaging, with students thoroughly enjoying the process of attempting the questions and actively participating in the study. The institute also extends its heartfelt thanks to the entire PARAKH team for their dedicated efforts and support in making this initiative meaningful and effective.
Overall, the smooth commencement of the Foundational Learning Study 2026 in District Leh reflects strong planning, effective coordination, and the collective commitment of all stakeholders towards strengthening foundational learning outcomes in the district.
