GDC Drass celebrates Independence Day.
Kargil, August 15, 2024: Govt. Degree College Drass today celebrated the 78th Independence Day. The Principal, students, faculty and staff members paid tributes to the freedom fighters and national heroes of the nation with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor.
The celebration started with the hoisting of the national flag by the Principal, while the national anthem was sung by the students and faculty with great pride.
Following the flag hoisting ceremony, the Principal addressed the students with his patriotic speech. In the speech, he emphasized that students should follow the path of valour shown by the freedom fighters during the independence movements.
He deliberated upon the fact that to achieve freedom, one has to sacrifice one’s mind, wealth and even life. He also urged students to free themselves from the shackles of self-doubt and to know their strengths to work hard for betterment of a strong and prosperous nation.
This was followed by a song presented by the students of 5th semester. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mohd Hassan Assistant Professor, who thanked faculty, students and staff members for making the celebration successful.
The event helped to instil a sense of patriotism and pride among students and faculty member. It marked as a remembrance of the heroes who sacrificed their lives to achieve freedom.
