Drass, July 13, 2026: Government Degree College Drass, under the PM-USHA Gender Inclusive Equity Initiative Scheme, commenced a week-long workshop on Women Leadership, Life Skills, Stop-Motion Animation & Menstrual Health and Hygiene in collaboration with Charkha, Development Communication Network, New Delhi.
The initiative aims to empower students by promoting leadership, creativity, life skills, gender equity, and health awareness through interactive and experiential learning.
The workshop was inaugurated on July 13, 2026, in the college campus. A total of 30 students registered for the two workshops. The inaugural session began with a welcome address by the Principal, who warmly welcomed the resource persons Mr. Agyat Mitra and Ms. Swati Bhatt, Peace Education and Creative Learning Facilitators from Play for Peace, Pune along with Mr. Nitin and Ms. Ananya, Programme Managers from the Charkha Development Communication Network.
In his address, the Principal highlighted the significance of the PM-USHA initiative and emphasized the importance of such workshops in nurturing leadership qualities, essential life skills, creativity, and health awareness among students. He encouraged the participants to actively engage in the sessions and make the best use of this valuable learning opportunity.
Following the inaugural session, Ms. Ananya introduced the workshop and explained its structure and objectives. She elaborated on the key themes of the programme, namely Women Leadership, Life Skills, Stop-Motion Animation, and Menstrual Health and Hygiene, highlighting how these sessions are designed to build confidence, foster creativity, strengthen leadership abilities, and promote awareness of health and well-being among young learners.
The programme was hosted by committee member PMUSHA Ms. Archo Fatima Nissa, who conducted the inaugural session and expressed gratitude to the resource persons for their valuable contribution. She also thanked the participants and committee members for their enthusiastic involvement and looked forward to a productive and enriching week of learning.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, reflecting their keen interest in developing leadership abilities, life skills, creative expression, and awareness of important health issues.
