GDC Kargil holds discussion session on fiction writing

KARGIL, JULY 06, 2022:The Department of English, Government Degree College, Kargil today conducted a discussion session on Elements of Fiction Writing in the Seminar Room of the college.
Lhundup Gyalpo, the author of Betty’s Butter Tea- Stories from Ladakh, graced the event as the guest speaker of the day.
Principal Incharge, Dr Jawed Naqi delivered the formal welcome address and presented traditional khataq to the guest of honour, as a token of gratitude. The program was organized to familiarize the students with the myriad aspects of creative writing in English.
While addressing the students, Gyalpo shared his experiences involved in the process of creation and educated the students about techniques and elements required for writing any fiction.
He further stressed upon the important features and components of fiction writing and narrated a story from his book Betty’s Butter Tea- Stories from Ladakh to illustrate the mechanisms of writing a fictional story. The talk was followed by an interactive discussion with the students.
The program proceedings were conducted by Archo Fatima Nissa, Assistant Prof. (English). Dr Azra Khatoon, Assistant Prof. (English) concluded the session with the vote of thanks.
Head Department of English, Parveen Fatima, Taira Bano Assistant Prof. (English) and other faculty members were present in the program. The session turned out to be most fruitful and enlightening for the young creative minds and the students thoroughly enjoyed the talk.
