GDC Kargil plants 150 saplings in campus premises as part of AJUIAK initiative.

Kargil, April 08, 2025: As a part of Anjuman e Jamiatul Ulema Isna Ashriyya Kargil’s massive plantation drive, Government Degree College Kargil planted 150 saplings in the college campus premises today.
Principal GDC Kargil, Disket Angmo inaugurated the plantation by planting the first cherry plant sapling in front of the administrative block in presence of faculty members, non-teaching staff, volunteers of AJUIAK and NCC students in large number.
At the outset of the event, coordinator of the program Dr. Abdul Hamid welcomed all the participants of the plantation drive and briefed about the campaign. Akhone Hasanain, representative of volunteers recited special prayers for the occasion followed by principal’s address.
In her address, Principal Disket Angmo expressed gratitude to the organizers for involving GDC Kargil as part of this green campaign. She emphasized that such initiatives should be wholeheartedly valued and availed for a sustainable future. She urged that these plants need to be taken utmost care to thrive as big trees in the future time.
Later the staff members, volunteers and students followed plantation at other suitable locations in the campus. Subsequently, District Forest Officer Kargil also joined the drive.
50 students from the College Mental Health and Eco Club, NCC and NSS of the college took part this green campus program.
Group leader of the volunteers from AJUIAK, Mudassir Hussain Wazir thanked the Principal for being part of this initiative and expressed hope for follow up care of the planted saplings.
