GDC Khaltse observes National Sports Day 2023.

Leh, August 29: Government Degree College, Khaltse commemorated the birth anniversary of the hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand and observed National Sports Day 2023 under the theme “Sports are an enabler to an inclusive and fit society” today.
Students of GDC, Khaltse participated in the event with great enthusiasm. The event was coordinated by Director of Physical Education, Sonam Chosphail, and Sports assisted by sports committee.
At the outset of the event, he highlighted the importance of observing National Sports Day to inculcate discipline and develop teamwork spirit.
The event envisaged competition under different categories such as 100 and 200m race, shot put, and discus throw.
Sonam Angmo, 5th semester; Dechen Dolkar, 5th semester and Padma Angmo, 3rd-semester students, secured 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position respectively in 100m and 200m races.
Similarly Padma Angmo, 3rd semester; Rigzin Angmo, 5th semester and Dechen Dolkar, 5th semester students secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively in shot-put.
Further in discus throw, Dechen Dolkar, 5th semester; Sonam Angmo 5th semester and Padma Angmo, 3rd semester students secured 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position respectively.
Principal GDC Khaltse, Stanzin Yangdol, congratulated the winners, participants, and the organising committee for conducting the event on National Sports Day.
Later, position holders were felicitated with certificates.
