GDC Nobra conducts campus sanitation drive.

A sanitation campaign was conducted at Government Degree College Nobra on Thursday, 7th May 2026, with active participation from faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students. The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness, environmental awareness, and collective responsibility within the college campus. The campaign was held as part of the district wide Sanitation campaign launched by the office of Deputy Commissioner Nobra.
The sanitation campaign covered various sections of the campus premises, where participants engaged in cleaning activities including waste collection, sweeping, and proper disposal of litter. Students enthusiastically took part in the drive and highlighted the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy educational environment.
Speaking on the occasion, the college Principal Rigzin Sandup appreciated the efforts of the participants and stressed the need for regular sanitation practices, especially in ecologically sensitive and tourist destinations like Nubra. The campaign also served as a reminder of the significance of community participation in preserving public spaces and fostering civic sense among the youth and public at large.
Faculty members further noted that such activities not only improve campus hygiene but also encourage students to develop responsible habits and environmental consciousness beyond the classroom. The campaign concluded with a thorough cleaning of the college volleyball court along with the classrooms and offices of the college building.
