GMDC Zanskar Holds Valedictory Function for Free KSSRB Coaching Programme

Zanskar, November 13, 2025:Government Model Degree College (GMDC) Zanskar held a Valedictory Function to mark the successful completion of the two-month free KSSRB Coaching Programme at the college. The initiative was made possible with the support of Hon’ble Executive Councillor Er. Punchok Tashi, Mr. Stanzin Jigmat (Councillor, Karsha), Mr. Stanzin Lakpa (Councillor, Cha), and the Contractor Association Zanskar.
The programme was organized under the supervision of Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi, Principal, GMDC Zanskar. While welcoming the guests Ms. Jigmet Chondol, Assistant Professor of Economics and Coordinator of the KSSRB Coaching, briefed the audience about the initiative and highlighted its successful outcomes.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Mr. Stanzin Chostak, Vice President, Contractor Association Zanskar, Mr Fiyaz Ahmad Wani cashier contractor association, Mr. Mohd Sharif, Zakzuk construction and Mr. Nawang Sangay, Thangla construction.
During the program many aspirants shared their enriching experience and highlighted the significance of the coaching. Mr. Padma Chokdup, one of the aspirants, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Principal, administration and faculty members for their unwavering dedication and efforts throughout the coaching period. Despite his academic background in Buddhist Studies, he stated that the guidance of experienced and qualified teachers helped him gain valuable understanding and confidence.
Another aspirant, Ms. Tsewang Chuskit, expressed complete satisfaction with the teaching methods, describing the lectures as precise and easily understandable.
Similarly, Ms. Tundup Angmo, another aspirant, spoke about how the programme provided motivation, encouragement and a conducive learning environment.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Stanzin Chostak, Vice President of the Contractor Association Zanskar, commended the college’s initiative. He encouraged the students to remain self-motivated in their pursuit of success. He expressed hope that the students would excel in their upcoming examinations and assured continued support from the Association for similar initiatives in the future.
The teaching faculty members involved in the coaching were honoured with Khataks, Certificates of Appreciation, and Souvenirs in recognition of their hard work and dedication. This also included Er. Stanzin Toldan PWD (hydrolic division) Zanskar who contributed voluntarily despite not being a part of the college staff.
Members of the Public Works Department (PWD) Zanskar were similarly acknowledged for their cooperation and support throughout the program.
In his address, Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi, Principal, GMDC Zanskar, reflected on the success of the programme and acknowledged the valuable support extended by the Hon’ble Councillors, Contractor Association Zanskar, and college staff. He emphasized that hard work is the key to success and encouraged students to remain dedicated to their academic and personal growth. Dr. Abassi remarked that the students of Zanskar are highly intelligent and capable of competing with aspirants from any region, provided they stay focused and determined. He extended heartfelt gratitude to all supporting individuals and organizations and expressed hope for their continued collaboration in future initiatives. Special appreciation was given to Ms. Jigmet Chondol, Assistant Professor of Economics, for her efficient coordination and smooth conduct of the entire coaching programme as the co-ordinator.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Haider Ali Askary, Assistant Professor of Sociology. He expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Principal, Councillors, Contractor Association Zanskar, and the dedicated teaching faculty and the enthusiastic students for their invaluable support and active participation, which contributed to making the programme a resounding success.
