Government Degree College Nobra Soft Launches Annual Magazine ‘Saser & Silk’.
Nobra, August 29, 2026: Government Degree College (GDC) Nobra today soft-launched its annual college magazine, ‘Saser & Silk’ (2025–26 Edition), an evolving contemporary platform that brings together campus voices, creativity, ideas, experiences, and narratives.
The title ‘Saser & Silk’ draws inspiration from two prominent symbols of Nubra Valley—the Saser Pass and the historic Silk Route. Together, the title reflects the valley’s rich legacy as a crossroads of journeys, cultures, and diverse narratives.
The magazine seeks to capture and carry forward this spirit by bringing together the voices and perspectives of students, faculty, and staff of GDC Nobra. It also serves as a platform to showcase the creativity, ideas, experiences, and achievements of the college community while documenting the ongoing journey and growth of the institution.
The magazine has been published under the guidance of Bhanu Prabha, IAS, Administrative Secretary, Higher Education, UT Ladakh, as the Chief Patron, and Rigzin Sandup, Principal, GDC Nobra, as the Patron.
The Editorial Team comprises Sonam Angmo, Assistant Professor of English, as Editor/Convenor of the Magazine, Publication and Media Committee, with Mohd. Mussa, Assistant Professor of Urdu, and Jegmet Sangyas, Assistant Professor of Political Science, as members.
The magazine features contributions from students Sanju Kumari, Zara Batul, Saddam Hussein, and Naziya Anjum, along with faculty contributions from Spalzes Angmo, Dr. Tashi Lundup, and Sonam Angmo.
The publication marks an important step in documenting and celebrating the creative and intellectual life of Government Degree College Nobra, while providing a meaningful space for the college community to share its stories, ideas, and experiences.
