Government Degree College Nubra successfully conducted its annual Student Council Elections for the academic session 2026-27.

Nubra, September 16, 2026: Government Degree College Nubra successfully conducted its annual Student Council Elections for the academic session 2026-27 today with active participation from the student body. Following a smooth and transparent voting process, the official results were declared viz. Padma Choskey (3rd Semester) as President, Naziya Anjum (5th Semester) as Secretary, and Mushraf Ali (1st Semester) as Treasurer.
To mark the occasion, a felicitation ceremony was organized in the college conference hall immediately after the declaration of the results, where the elected representatives were warmly received and felicitated by the faculty and students. Addressing the gathering, Principal Prof. Rigzin Sandup extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected members and encouraged the council to act as an effective bridge between the administration and the student community. He further urged them to proactively address student grievances, maintain academic discipline, and take a leading role in organizing cultural, sports, and extension activities throughout the academic year.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr.
Jegmet Sangyas, Assistant Professor of Political Science, acknowledging the dedicated efforts of the election committee, faculty members, and security personnel for ensuring a peaceful and seamless election process.
