    Government Degree College Zanskar Hosts Interactive Session and Friendly Sports Meet with Students of Department of Physical Education, University of Ladakh, Kargil Campus.
    Zanskar, May 22, 2026: An interactive session and friendly sports meet was successfully organized at Government Degree College Zanskar between the students of Government Degree College Zanskar and the students of Department of Physical Education, University of Ladakh. The programme aimed to strengthen academic interaction, sportsmanship, and institutional collaboration between the two institutions.
    The programme was conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi, who warmly welcomed Dr. Murtaza Ali, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, University of Ladakh, along with the accompanying faculty members and students. In his address, the Principal expressed gratitude for their visit to Government Degree College Zanskar and highlighted the importance of such academic and sports exchanges in promoting mutual learning and cooperation.
    Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi also briefed the participants about the upcoming High Altitude Trekking Course and the NIELIT course proposed to be started in the college for the benefit of students and the local community.
    During the session, Dr. Murtaza shared his earlier experiences of visiting the college and appreciated the remarkable progress and development achieved by the institution over the years. He lauded the efforts of the college administration in promoting academics, co-curricular activities, and student welfare.
    Mr. Mohd Javed, Physical Training Instructor at the University of Ladakh, also addressed the gathering and spoke about the significance of such educational visits and sports interactions. On behalf of the University of Ladakh, he presented a volleyball and net to the college for the promotion of sports activities among students.
    The event further witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members of both institutions in a series of friendly sports matches, including volleyball, table tennis, and cricket. The matches were played in a spirit of camaraderie, teamwork, and healthy competition, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and mutual respect.
    The programme concluded on a cordial note, following which tea was served to the faculty members and students at the college cafeteria. The participants appreciated the warm hospitality extended by Government Degree College Zanskar and expressed hope for more such collaborative programmes in the future.
