    Grand Science Exhibition for PM Shri Schools, Leh District Date: 30 May 2026 The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, organized a Grand Science Exhibition for PM Shri Schools of Leh District on 30 May 2026, creating a vibrant platform for students to showcase their creativity, innovation, and scientific spirit. The event brought together dignitaries, judges, principals, teachers, and students, with special encouragement from Scientist Sh. Stanzin Norla of Baba Atomic Research Centre, Hanley, whose presence and words inspired the budding innovators to pursue science with passion and dedication. The exhibition commenced with the ceremonial presentation of khataks, a gesture rooted in Ladakhi tradition, followed by a welcome address and insightful speeches. Students from across the district presented innovative models and experiments on diverse themes, reflecting imagination, inquiry, and practical application of scientific knowledge. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as young minds explained their projects to the guests and judges, demonstrating both creativity and critical thinking. In the Primary School Category, the First Prize was awarded to Primary School Spituk. In the Middle School Category, the Third Prize went to Middle School Nimoo, the Second Prize to Middle School Taknak, and the First Prize to Middle School Takmachik. In the High School Category, the Third Prize was awarded to High School Wanla, the Second Prize to High School Skalzangling, and the First Prize to High School Anlay. A special consolation and appreciation prize was also presented to the students of Government Higher Secondary School Chuchot Yokma, supporting inclusivity in education and recognizing their commendable efforts. Mementos were presented to all the judges as a token of gratitude and respect for their valuable time, guidance, and encouragement. The esteemed panel included Ms. Sonam Dolkar, Principal HSS Saspol (Head Judge); Mr. Sandeep Singh Pathania, PGT Physics, JNV Leh; Mr. Vinay Abrol, PGT Biology, JNV Leh; Mr. Dorjay Wangchuk, Senior Lecturer, Computer Sciences, DIET Leh; and Ms. Tsering Chorol, Lecturer, GHSS Khaltse. Their presence and insightful observations enriched the exhibition and motivated students to strive for excellence. The winners were applauded for their achievements, while all participants were commended for their dedication, creativity, and innovative spirit. A special thanks to Principal DIET Leh Mr. Mirza Mehdi, Ms. Tsering Yangdol HOD, and Ms. Sonam Lhamo HOD, along with the organizing committee of DIET leh, for their constant support and meticulous planning that ensured the success of the event. The exhibition concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks. It was not only a celebration of science but also of curiosity, inclusivity, and imagination.
