Har Ghar Tiranga: Tiranga Car Rally, Vande Mataram Rendition and Cultural Performances Held at Randhawa Top.
Kargil, August 15: As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026 and Independence Day celebrations, the District Administration Kargil, in collaboration with the Tourism Department, Kargil, today organised a Tiranga Car Rally from Kargil Town to Randhawa Top View Point, promoting pride in the National Flag, patriotism, national unity and public participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
The rally culminated at Randhawa Top, where a soulful rendition of the National Song Vande Mataram was presented by the girl students of Government Higher Secondary School, Minjee, along with local folk artists. The programme was followed by patriotic songs, vibrant folk music and traditional dance performances, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kargil and adding colour and fervour to the Independence Day celebrations.
The programme was organised with the active support and cooperation of the Indian Army.
Joint Director Finance/CCF, LAHDC, Kargil, Iftikhar Hussain, along with senior officers of the District Administration, escort teachers, students and artists, were present on the occasion.
The participating officers, students and folk artists also interacted with Army officers and jawans during the event and expressed their appreciation and gratitude for their dedication, courage and service in safeguarding the nation, particularly in the challenging climatic and high-altitude conditions of the border areas.
The interaction also provided an opportunity for the participants to acknowledge the immense sacrifices and commitment of the soldiers who remain stationed in some of the country’s most difficult and strategically sensitive areas, often away from their families and loved ones. Their unwavering vigilance, discipline and readiness to respond to every challenge play a vital role in maintaining the security and integrity of the nation’s borders.
The students and artists expressed admiration for the resilience of the troops, who continue to perform their duties with dedication despite extreme cold, high-altitude terrain, difficult weather and other operational challenges. Their service stands as a powerful reminder that the freedom and peace enjoyed by citizens are sustained by the courage, sacrifice and constant vigilance of the nation’s armed forces.
The presence of the Army personnel and their families further added a sense of solidarity and warmth to the celebrations, bringing together civilians, students, artists, administrators and soldiers in a shared expression of national pride and gratitude.
The programme reflected the broader spirit of the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative, which seeks to encourage citizens to participate in celebrating and honouring the National Flag and to strengthen the values of patriotism, national unity and civic pride. The Tiranga Car Rally, rendition of Vande Mataram, participation of school students, cultural performances and interaction with Army personnel collectively transformed the celebration into a vibrant expression of love and respect for the Tiranga, cultural pride, community participation and national unity.
