    Hazrat Imam Hussain’s (AS) supreme sacrifice will continue to guide mankind forever: Aga Sayed Mujhtaba.
    Kargil, July 22, 2024: Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Aga Sayed Mujhtaba today lauded Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (LAACL) Kargil during the first day of 2-Day District Level Multilingual Hussaini Mushaira. He expressed gratitude and appreciated the efforts of LAACL Kargil for organizing the event.
    The 2-day district level multilingual Hussaini Mushaira is being organized by the LAACL Kargil at the Academy Hall.
    In his speech, the EC praised the Cultural Academy for organizing such poetic gatherings regularly and commended the poets for their excellent renderings of poetic compositions. He also appreciated the academy’s continuous efforts in promoting and preserving folk traditions through such programs in the district
    He stressed the importance of involving youth, in such literary programs to foster an appreciation for traditions and heritage. He highlighted the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions, stating that their ultimate sacrifice will continue to guide humanity forever.
    He suggested that poets should express their views and remember Imam Hussain (AS) through their writings, emphasizing his choice of the righteous path despite the challenges.
    The EC emphasized that culture determines the true identity of a community and that it is the collective responsibility of all stakeholders to preserve ethnic identities in terms of language, dress, food, and ancestral values amidst modernization.
    He reiterated the commitment of the LAHDC, Kargil towards promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Kargil Ladakh and assured full support to LAACL Kargil in fulfilling its mandate. He urged the concerned authorities to come up with concrete long-term proposals for systematic cultural preservation and promotion.
    The occasion was graced by State Awardee Kacho Asfandyar Khan Faridoon, a renowned writer and poet of UT Ladakh, who was present as the guest of honour.
    In his address, Faridoon praised the richness of the poetry presented and extended his gratitude to LAACL Kargil for organizing the program. He expressed optimism for the continuation of similar enriching initiatives in the future and congratulated the Academy for organizing such events for the literary community.
    He urged Hon’ble Lt. Governer, UT Ladakh, CEC, LAHDC, Kargil and MP Ladakh to construct an office and Ladakh Cultural Centre for Kargil, which is a long pending demand of Kargil, emphasizing that all states and UTs have their own Cultural Centres and it’s crucial for the district to have one for the benefit of the society. He urged for speedy execution of work of Ladakh Cultural Centre for Kargil on priority basis.
    The literary event witnessed participation of large number of poets, both senior and novice, representing languages such as Ladakhi, Balti, Purgi, Urdu, and Shina Dardi.
    During the poetic session, more than 21 poets fascinated the audience with their poetic collections aimed at praising and paying rich tributes to the martyrs of Karbala and reflecting on the philosophy of martyrdom.
    The function was presided over by noted senior poet and writer Padma Shree Awardee Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat, Aga Sayed Hadi, Muhammad Hussain (senior writer), Bashir Wafa and many others.
    The poets who presented their poetic renderings included All State Awardee, Kacho Asfandyar Khan Faridoon (Purgi/Urdu), Padma Shree Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat (Balti), Aga Syed Hadi Shah Aga (Purgi/Urdu), Gen. Nawang Paljor (Ladakhi), Bashir Ahmad Wafa (Balti), Raza Amjad Badgami (Shina/Urdu), Mohd Ali Butto (Purgi/Urdu), Akhone Ali Subour (Balti), Mohd Shafi Sagar (Shina/Urdu), Mohd Ali Ashoor (Balti), Tsewang Rigzin Forook (Ladakhi/Purgi), Abdul Majid Sehra (Shina/Urdu), Mohd Ali Khumar (Purgi/Urdu), Ataullah Parwaaz (Shina/Urdu), Nissar Hussain Trespone (Purgi/Urdu), Mirza Mehdi Jaffari (Purgi/Urdu), Fida Ali Fida (Shina/Urdu), Mohd Baqir Rafeeq (Purgi/Urdu), Mohd Taqi Khan Nayaab (Purgi/Urdu), Sajad Ali Shujaat (Purgi/Urdu), Ali Asgar Rinchan (Balti/Urdu), and Kacho Ahmadi (Urdu/Purgi).
    In his presidential remarks, Padma Shree Awardee, Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat praised the Academy for organizing the poetic session. He expressed optimism that it would provide an ideal platform for poets across the district representing different vernacular languages to share their fresh literary endeavors in terms of religious poetry.
    Basharat recalled the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his loyal companions, emphasizing the need to follow their path and principles to bring virtue and morality to the present era, which is faced with chaos and disorder.
    Deputy Secretary, LAACL Kargil, Nazir Hussain, in his welcome speech, highlighted the aim of the literary event, emphasizing the twin objectives of paying poetic tributes to the martyrs of Karbala and promoting religious poetry in vernacular languages. He underscored the importance of providing platforms for budding poets to refine their skills under the guidance of senior poets.
    He further mentioned that the program aims to aimp to protect and preserve cultural heritage and diversity. “We are trying our best to reach young and talented youth and involve them actively to adopt and spread our past cultural heritage, which is a preserved gift from our ancestors,” he said.
    He added that the Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages Kargil has always been keen to see religious poetry flourish and remain intact so that it can be passed on to posterity in its true essence.
    Noted Urdu and Purgi poet Shujaat Ali Shujaat conducted the program proceedings. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Zakir Hussain, Head Assistant, LAACL Kargil. The event witnessed the presence of writers, poets, district officers, prominent citizens, school children, and a large gathering of literary enthusiasts.
