Health Camp Organized at CHC Sankoo to Mark World Hypertension Day.
Kargil, May 22, 2025 – As part of the global observance of World Hypertension Day, the Community Health Centre (CHC) Sankoo organized a comprehensive Health Camp and awareness program focused on promoting preventive healthcare and holistic well-being.
A team of professional doctors comprised of Senior Physician Consultant, District Hospital Kargil, Dr. Ghulam Hussain Bardi, and Physician at CHC Sankoo Dr. Syed Iftikhar Hussain graced the occasion.
Various stalls were established at the camp, offering General OPD Services, Screening for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension, diabetes, and cancer, along with laboratory testing and health counselling. All services were provided free of cost to the local residents.
A total of 111 patients availed general OPD services, 90 patients underwent NCD screening, and 24 patients received laboratory diagnostic services. Free medicines and diagnostic facilities were also provided to all beneficiaries. Health education remained a key component of the program.
Mrs. Zakiya Banoo (CHO), Fayaz Ali, Nargis (AFHC), and NCD Counsellor Raziya Banoo addressed the attendees, raising awareness about hypertension and its risk factors.
They emphasized the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle—encouraging regular physical activity, avoiding tobacco use, staying hydrated, reducing salt intake, undergoing routine medical checkups, and managing stress—all essential steps to prevent and control hypertension.
