About the Department
A Commissioner Secretary heads the Department of Higher Education. The Department of Higher Education is responsible for the overall development of the basic infrastructure of Higher Education sector, both in terms of policy and planning. The Department looks after expansion of access and qualitative improvement in Higher Education, through world class Universities, Colleges and other Institutions.
Public Health Functions Integration
The following core public health functions will be integrated into higher education institutions:

Investigate health issues within academic communities and research health hazards.
Develop health education curricula and awareness programs for students and staff.
Collaborate with local health authorities and community organizations.
Create health policies for educational institutions and research guidelines.
Ensure compliance with health regulations in educational settings.
Connect students and staff with healthcare services and resources.
Train healthcare professionals and ensure competent medical staff.
Assess health service quality and program effectiveness in institutions.
Implementation Action Plan
