    As part of the third day of the Ladakh Festival 2026, sacred Chams (mask dances) were performed by venerable monks at the Dharma Centre, Choglamsar. The programme also featured an exhibition of sacred Thangka paintings and butter sculpture art by various monastic institutions.
    A week-long workshop on butter sculpture & Torzo was organised by the Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (LAACL), Leh, in collaboration with the Ladakh Gonpa Association, showcasing traditional Buddhist art and craftsmanship.
    Shri Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS, Administrative Secretary, Tourism & Culture, UT Ladakh, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. H.E. Skyabje Bakula Rangdol Nyima Rinpoche also graced the occasion.
    The programme was attended by Shri Mohd Taqi, JKAS, Deputy Director Tourism, UT Ladakh; Shri Muhammad Ali Tak, Assistant Director Tourism, Kargil; Shri Tsewang Paljor, Deputy Secretary, LAACL, Leh; and Venerable Dorjey, President, Ladakh Gonpa Association, among others.
    During the programme, the Administrative Secretary also visited the butter sculpture exhibition and appreciated the traditional craftsmanship and artistic expressions presented by the monastic institutions.
    A large gathering of locals and tourists from across the world witnessed the sacred Chams and cultural displays, providing visitors with an opportunity to experience and appreciate Ladakh’s rich Buddhist heritage, traditional art and cultural traditions.
