Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) holds meeting with NHIDCL, Hospitality & Protocol, BSNL and IT Dept officials to discuss various issues.

Leh, Feb 25, 2025: The Hon’ble Lt Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) held a meeting with officials from National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) and Hospitality and Protocol Department, at the LG Secretariat.
Principal Secretary, Sanjiv Khirwar, IAS; Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Dr L Franklin, IAS; Secretary, Education, Bhanu Prabha, IAS; Director, Hospitality & Protocol, Moses Kunzang, JKAS and General Manager, NHIDCL, CBP Madhurkar were present in the meeting.
At the outset, the HLG inquired about the delay in the completion of the construction of staff quarters and rooms at Gesar Palace. He highlighted the inconvenience faced by the guests/officials and employees due to the delay in handing over the said buildings to the UT Administration.
General Manager of NHIDCL apprised the HLG of the issue they faced in completing the construction work, including pending payment.
The HLG asked NHIDCL to hand over the buildings at Gesar Palace by 15th June, 2025 and assured to take necessary actions to ensure their payments are made on time.
The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) also held a meeting with BSNL officials and officials from IT Department at the LG Secretariat to discuss the delay in achieving the saturation of 4G mobile services under USOF in Ladakh. Principal Secretary, Sanjiv Khirwar, IAS; Commissioner/Secretary to HLG, Dr L Franklin, IAS; General Manager, BSNL Leh, Hari Om Solanki and officials from IT Department were present in the meeting.
Hari Om Solanki apprised the HLG of the steps taken to resolve the issue faced by villagers of Phyang Phhulungs area and efforts being made by them to make as many BSNL towers operational as possible.
Highlighting the importance of providing reliable telecommunication connectivity along with fast-speed internet connectivity to the citizens of Ladakh, the HLG discussed viable options to ensure that all towers are made operational/working by the contractors.
