Inter-District Table Tennis Tournament Concludes Successfully in Zanskar under Ladakh Sports Festival 2026.
Zanskar, 14th September 2026: An Inter-District Table Tennis Tournament was successfully organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Zanskar, as part of the Ladakh Sports Festival 2026 in Zanskar.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from all seven districts of the Union Territory of Ladakh, providing a platform to young and talented table tennis players to showcase their skills, competitive spirit and sporting excellence.
The inaugural session of the tournament was graced by the worthy Deputy Commissioner, Zanskar, Sh. Omkar Rajendra Gundage as the Chief Guest, while the Superintendent of Police, Zanskar, Sh. Rigzin Sangdup attended the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The dignitaries encouraged the participating players and appreciated the efforts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports in promoting sports and nurturing young talent in the region.
The tournament concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, wherein the worthy Commissioner/Secretary, Ms. Bhanu Prabha, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and felicitated the winners, runners-up and participating teams. The Chief Guest appreciated the players for their dedication and sportsmanship and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in their respective sporting disciplines.
In the Boys’ Category, District Leh emerged as the Winner, while District Zanskar secured the Runner-up position.
In the Girls’ Category, District Kargil emerged as the Winner, while District Leh secured the Runner-up position.
The successful organization of the tournament reflects the commitment of the UT Administration and the Department of Youth Services and Sports towards promoting a vibrant sports culture in Ladakh and providing athletes with opportunities to compete at various levels.
The event concluded on a positive note, with appreciation extended to all the participating teams, officials, coaches and volunteers for their contribution towards the successful conduct of the tournament.
