Investiture Ceremony for the State Award to be held on 20th Jan Lieutenant Governor would honor the awardees with medals and citation
Leh, 18 Jan: The Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh is all set to hold the Investiture Ceremony of the State Awards on 20th January at Sindhu Sanskriti Kendra, Leh. UT Administration has institutionalized the State Awards for recognizing the contribution of individuals as well as organizations for their outstanding works in the field of Bravery, Literature, Art & Craft, Social Reforms, Empowerment, and Environment Protection, Public Service, Sports, Entrepreneurship & Progressive Farming and Teaching & Academics. The award consists of a medal of 28gms gold of 18 carats, Rs.51,000/- and a citation. The medal is minted at the Government of India Mint at Mumbai and displays twin State Birds i.e. Black Necked Crane, the category of the award, and the name of the awardee besides the national emblem.
It is pertinent to mention that the ceremony for the State Awards could not be held so far due to the COVID-pandemic. There are 16 awardees of State Awards 2020 and 10 awardees of State Awards 2021 who would be honored with medals and citations during the Investiture Carmony. The cash award of Rs 51,000/- each has already been credited to the bank accounts of all the State Awardees.”
