    ITI Kargil celebrates first anniversary of PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
    Kargil, Sept 20, 2024: Govt. ITI Kargil celebrated the first anniversary of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme during which a live telecast of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s address from Wardha, Maharashtra, was screened, during which the Vishwakarmas and participants attentively listened and gained insights into the scheme’s benefits.
    During the certificate distribution ceremony, successful trainees in tailoring and carpentry, who had completed their basic training under the scheme, were awarded with certificates.
    The event was attended by ADC Kargil, Suhail Ahmed; HOP/General Manager, Nimo Bazgo/Chutuk Project, NHPC, Jitendra Kumar; DIC Kargil General Manager Rehmatullah Bhat; Deputy Director RDSDE JK & Ladakh V.K. Saksena; AGM J&K Bank Kargil Ishfaq Ahmad; Chief Manager SBI Kargil Sumit Gupta; Superintendent ITI Kargil Abid Hussain, staff from ITI Kargil and NHPC Chutuk project, and beneficiaries of PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
    Superintendent Abid Hussain welcomed the dignitaries and informed them that ITI Kargil had successfully trained 105 candidates across five batches including three in tailoring and two in carpentry.
    NHPC General Manager Jitendra Kumar emphasized the enhancement of traditional skills with modern technology under the scheme and highlighted its positive impact on skill development.
    The scheme provides holistic, end-to-end support to artisans and craftsmen, including access to collateral-free credit, skill training, modern tools, incentives for digital transactions, and market linkage support.
    Beneficiaries receive 40 hours of basic training with a daily stipend of Rs 500. Upon completion, trainees receive an NCVET-recognized certificate. Additionally, beneficiaries are eligible for toolkit incentives of up to Rs 15,000 and credit support of up to Rs 3 lakh in two tranches, with a concessional interest rate of 5 percent.
