Kargil Administration Concludes Third-Party Assessment of all Government School Children.
Kargil, December 11, 2025: Under the initiative, “Padega Kargil, Badega Kargil”, the District Administration Kargil successfully conducted a third-party assessment of school children across the district. The examinations were held at 81 centres across Kargil.
The examination was aimed to access the overall development and comprehension of different subjects among the children. A record total of 91.46 percent of students, out of a total of 8,169, appeared for the examination, a high turnout due to the enthusiastic participation of the students. The high number of participation was also ensured by the active support of the teacher fraternity and parents.
The sensitive examination materials were dispatched from the Strong Rooms in Kargil and Zanskar, escorted by concerned sectoral magistrates. At the zonal level, the sensitive materials were further distributed from the SDM Offices to the respective Superintendents of the centres.
Magistrates were also deputed for all zones, with separate magistrates assigned for remote areas like Itchoo and Sharchay.
The examinations were held for Classes 1st to 9th, excluding Class 8th. The questions in the examination were Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The students from Classes 1st to 4th had to tick the answers on the question paper itself, while students from Classes 5th to 9th had to mark their answers on OMR sheets.
This examination was also instrumental in providing a firsthand experience of MCQ and OMR sheet-based examinations to the students.
The same assessment will be used for rationalisation and implementation of the newly framed fair, and transparent teachers’ transfer policy. The general public in Kargil, and especially the teacher fraternity, are optimistic about its implementation, which was recently adopted by the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil.
