Khidmat-e-Awaam Outreach Programme Held at Shimsha Thasgam Drass.
Drass, March 25, 2026: A public outreach programme titled “Khidmat-e-Awaam” was successfully organized today at Shimsha in Drass Subdivision of Kargil District, witnessing significant participation from local residents as well as officials from various government departments.
The programme was organized by the District Administration with the objective of promoting good governance and ensuring the delivery of government services at the doorstep of the people. The initiative was conducted under the directions of the Chief Secretary of Ladakh, as part of the ongoing district-wide outreach programmes being held under the aegis of Khidmat-e-Awaam.
The programme was convened under the supervision of Sub Divisional Magistrate, Vishal Atri. During the interaction, residents from the area actively participated and projected several developmental demands. Prominent issues raised included the Construction of Irrigation canel, construction of Ration Store at Shimsha and construction of main road of Shimsha properly and different limbs.
Officials from various line departments interacted with the public, listened to their concerns, and assured appropriate follow-up action. The programme provided an important platform for direct engagement between the administration and the local population.
The District Administration reiterated its commitment to strengthening public service delivery and ensuring that government services reach every corner of the district through such outreach initiatives.
