    Leh, 7 October 2026: The Labour Department, UT Ladakh, conducted an awareness camp for unorganized workers at the New Terminal Building of Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport, Leh, in the presence of the Administrative Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, UT Ladakh, and the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Leh, along with officials of the Labour Department and staff of the Common Service Centres (CSCs).
    The awareness camp was organized in collaboration with the Common Service Centres to facilitate on-the-spot enrolment of eligible workers under various government pension schemes.
    During the camp, officers briefed the workers about the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM), National Pension Scheme for Traders (NPS-Traders), and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY). The workers were apprised of the benefits and eligibility criteria of these pension schemes.
    The Labour Department urged unorganised workers to make maximum use of the Government’s social security initiatives and avail themselves of the benefits available under these pension schemes.
    The participating workers expressed their willingness to enrol under the pension schemes to secure their future and avail themselves of the social security benefits provided by the Government.
    The awareness drive will continue up to 15 October 2026, covering various areas of Leh, Nubra and Changthang, with the objective of reaching out to eligible unorganised workers and facilitating their enrolment under the pension schemes.
