Ladakh Child Protection Society conducts orientation cum training program for Child Welfare Committee & Juvenile Justice Board.
Kargil, Sept 27, 2024: The Program Manager of Ladakh Child Protection Society (LCPS), Abdul Rahim presented a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation to newly appointed chairpersons/members of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), Kargil, at Council Secretariat, Kargil.
The orientation cum training program aimed to enhance the understanding of the Juvenile Justice Act 2015 (amended 2021) and Ladakh Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Model Rules 2024.
The training session focused on key aspects of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015, emphasizing compliance to ensure protection and rehabilitation of children in need.
Abdul Rahim highlighted the importance of functions and procedures related to CWC and JJB. He highlighted the understanding of the Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Ladakh Juvenile Justice Model Rules 2024, compliance with the Act for protection and rehabilitation of children, roles and responsibilities of CWC and JJB members, and adoption regulations 2022 and stakeholder roles in protecting child rights.
The training was attended by Chairperson of Child Welfare Committee, Kargil, Dr Niyaz Ali, members of Child Welfare Committee Kargil, Nazir Ahmad & Najma Akhtar; members of Juvenile Justice Board, Kargil Neelufer Niyaz & Hamida Banoo; Legal cum Probation Officer, DCPU, Mohd Ali; Probation Officer of Non Institutional, DCPU, Fazil Ali; Supervisor, Child Helpline, Tajammul Ara; other employees of District Child Protection Unit; and CWC, Kargil.
