    Leh, September 28, 2026: The third day of the ongoing Ladakh Festival 2026 began with a vibrant exhibition of traditional handicrafts, handloom, local cuisines and indigenous products at Municipal Committee Park, Leh Main Market, providing a platform for local artisans, self-help groups and organisations from across Ladakh to showcase their skills, craftsmanship and cultural heritage.
    The exhibition featured a diverse range of traditional crafts and live demonstrations by artisans, including basket weaving, wood and stone carving, pottery, carpet weaving, shawl weaving and spinning, thangka painting, copper craft, felting, traditional Ladakhi shoemaking and Perak craftsmanship. Visitors also explored local products such as apricot juice, jam and oil, along with block-printed textiles from Shachukul, traditional dishes and other locally made goods.
    The stalls were set up by artisans, self-help groups, NGOs and organisations, including LEDeG and the White Copper Foundation from Zanskar, representing different districts and regions of Ladakh. The exhibition also featured traditional Chang Khang displays, highlighting the region’s distinctive cultural practices and local craftsmanship.
    The exhibition attracted local residents and tourists, who showed keen interest in Ladakh’s traditional art forms, indigenous products and culinary heritage.
    The live demonstrations offered visitors an opportunity to observe the skills and techniques passed down through generations, while providing artisans with a platform to promote their work and connect with wider audiences.
    The exhibition highlighted the rich cultural diversity of Ladakh and the importance of preserving traditional craftsmanship, promoting local products and supporting artisans, while introducing the region’s heritage to a wider audience.
