Ladakh Zanskar Festival: DC Kargil Reviews Arrangements at Sani Lake Venue.
Zanskar, September 18, 2025: Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar (IAS), chaired a review meeting on Thursday to oversee preparations for the 10th edition of the Ladakh Zanskar Festival, scheduled to take place at Sani Lake in Zanskar.
The meeting was attended by Additional SP Kargil, Nitin Yadav, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Zanskar) Omkar Rajendra Gundage (IAS), Tehsildar Zanskar Mohd Hassan, the Station House Officer, and other sub-divisional level officers.
During the briefing, the SDM and Tehsildar apprised the Deputy Commissioner of the detailed arrangements being made for the cultural festival.
DC Kargil inspected key facilities including stalls, temporary toilets, seating arrangements, stages, lighting, deployment of magistrates and police personnel, and other logistical requirements. He issued on-the-spot directions to concerned departments, instructing them to complete all pending works by Friday.
He further reviewed the arrangements for departmental stalls, which will provide information about various government schemes and policies, showcase departmental achievements, and display products from different departments. He also directed officials to install LED screens to showcase various government schemes for the benefit of the public during the festival.
Appealing to the people of Zanskar Sub-Division, Kargil district, and the wider Ladakh region, the Deputy Commissioner urged residents to participate in the festival, where artists from across states and regions will present and promote their cultural traditions.
He added that the festival will serve as a platform to celebrate and promote the diverse ethnic groups and cultural heritage of Ladakh, with special emphasis on the traditions of Zanskar Sub-Division.
