Ladakhi Culinary Heritage Celebrated at First-Ever Food Fest in GHSS Tangtse

Date: 26 May 2025:Government Higher Secondary School Tangtse hosted its first-ever Food Festival today, showcasing the rich and diverse culinary heritage of Ladakh. The vibrant event brought together students, staff, and community members in a spirited celebration of traditional Ladakhi cuisine, with dishes representing all regions of Lalok.
The festival was graced by the presence of Shri Konchok Stanzin, Hon’ble Councillor of Chushul Constituency, who attended as the Chief Guest. Also present were esteemed dignitaries including Shri Dorjey Stanzin, BEC, and Ven. Konchok Gyaltson, Headmaster of Middle School. Their presence and words of encouragement greatly enriched the occasion and inspired the students.
Under the dynamic leadership of Principal Mrs. Zaibun Nissa, and with the wholehearted efforts of the teaching and non-teaching staff, the event was a resounding success. The school premises came alive with colorful food stalls, lively interaction, and a sense of pride in local traditions.
Students enthusiastically prepared and presented an impressive array of traditional dishes, highlighting not only the diversity of Ladakhi cuisine but also its nutritional value and health benefits. Their active participation reflected a growing awareness and appreciation of Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage.
