LADAKH’S NHM IEC EXCELLENCE HONOURED AT NATIONAL HEALTHCARE & EDUCATION SUMMIT 2025.
New Delhi: Mr. Noorul Islam, State IEC Consultant, National Health Mission, Health & Medical Education Department, Ladakh, has been honoured with the Prestigious Award for Best Health IEC Practice in the Himalayan Region at the National Healthcare & Education Summit & Conference 2025. He was recognised for his outstanding efforts in promoting various government health schemes and educating rural communities with essential information on diseases, vaccines, and medicines—ensuring that people are well-informed and able to fully benefit from government initiatives.
The award ceremony was attended by several distinguished national leaders, including:
* Dr. Jeetu Lal Meena, Joint Director, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, Member, Medical Assessment and Rating Board, National Medical Commission.
* Shri Ravikant Ujjain, Member of Legislative Assembly, Trilokpuri
* Dr. Sant Kumar Chaudhary, Chairman, Shankara Group of Institutions.
* Padma Shri Dr. Mohsin Wali, Senior Consultant Medicine & Cardiologist, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital; Former Physician to three Presidents of India.
* Dr. Jauhari Lal, Former Director, ONGC
In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Noorul Islam dedicated the honour to the people of Ladakh. “This award is not just mine — it belongs to every frontline health worker, every community volunteer, and every family in Ladakh who believed in the power of health education,” he said. He added that the recognition will further strengthen the National Health Mission’s efforts to enhance Information, Education & Communication (IEC) across geographically remote regions of Ladakh.
