Launches of Stop Diarrhoea Campaign with ORS-Zinc Corners at All Anganwadi Centres Leh

Leh, July 21, 2025: As part of the “Month of Compassion,” the Department of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), in collaboration with Health Department, successfully launched the “Stop Diarrhoea Campaign” across Leh district. This joint initiative aims to raise awareness about the prevention and treatment of diarrhoea, particularly among children and vulnerable groups.
To bolster this effort, Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) and Zinc Corners were established at all Anganwadi Centres in Leh on July 10, 2025. These centers will serve as crucial points for the distribution of ORS packets and Zinc tablets, ensuring easy access for families and caregivers.
The campaign’s primary objective is to enhance awareness regarding hygiene practices and timely treatment of diarrhoea using ORS and Zinc. Health and Anganwadi workers are actively engaged in educating communities and distributing the necessary materials. This initiative underscores administration’s commitment to improve child health and preventing diarrhoea-related illnesses in the region.
