Zanskar, March 27, 2026: A lecture series on “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and National Integration” was successfully inaugurated today at Government Degree College Zanskar under the supervision of the Principal, Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi, who delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the importance of such academic initiatives in promoting awareness about national unity.
The lecture series is being coordinated by Dr. Zaffer Iqbal, Assistant Professor (Education).This academic initiative of lecture series will run from March to August and aims to explore the life history, contributions, and role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in strengthening national integration in India.
The inaugural keynote lecture was delivered by Dr. Akbar Ali, Assistant Professor (Political Science) GDC Zanskar. In his address, he discussed the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and elaborated on the concept of national integration, its significance, and its relevance in contemporary society.
Moreover, he highlighted the concept of national integration, its origins in civilization, and provided clear definitions and insights to enhance students’ understanding of the subject.
The session proved to be highly informative and engaging, as students were made aware of the historical and contemporary relevance of national integration. The lecture also emphasized the importance of unity, diversity, and collective responsibility in nation-building.
The event marked a significant academic beginning to a series of lectures that are expected to enrich students’ knowledge and inspire them to contribute positively to society.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Mohd. Hussain (Sr. Assistant Professor Zoology) who expressed gratitude to the organizers, speaker, and participants for making the event successful.
