    Leh, Ladakh | June 2026 – The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, hosted the inaugural session of the PM eVidya DTH TV Channels Orientation-cum-Training Workshop, marking a significant step towards strengthening digital education and teacher capacity-building in Ladakh.
    The ceremony began with a warm welcome to dignitaries, academicians, trainers, and participants. In keeping with Ladakhi tradition, a khatak presentation ceremony was held to honor the distinguished guests. The event was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Sh. Zakir Hussain Samrah, Joint Director, School Education Department, UT Ladakh; Prof. Abhay Kumar, Professor and National Coordinator, PM eVidya Channel; Mr. Rajesh Patel, Director, BISAG-N; Mr. Sanjay Vaghasiya, Additional Director, SATCOM, BISAG-N; Dr. Anantha S. Nayak, Assistant Professor, RIE Ajmer and State Coordinator for Ladakh; Dr. Piyush Vishwakarma, Academic Consultant, NCERT; Ms. Ruchi L. Khatri, Academic Consultant, NCERT; Ms. Monika Bhakuni, Academic Consultant, NCERT; Mr. Akilesh Verma, Academic Consultant, NCERT; Sh. S.D. Namgyal, Principal, DIET Kargil; Sh. Mirza Mehdi , Principal, DIET Leh and HOD DIET Ms. Tsering Yangdol.
    In his welcome address, the Principal of DIET Leh highlighted the importance of digital platforms in democratizing access to quality education and emphasized the role of PM eVidya in bridging learning gaps across diverse regions. Prof. Abhay Kumar, in his keynote remarks, underscored the transformative potential of PM eVidya channels in delivering inclusive and engaging educational content, encouraging teachers to embrace innovation and adaptability in the digital era. Mr. Rajesh Patel shared insights on BISAG-N’s contributions to educational broadcasting and stressed the importance of leveraging technology to empower educators and learners alike.
    Delivering the chief guest’s address, Sh. Zakir Hussain Samrah commended DIET’s ( Leh and Kargil) for their proactive initiatives and reiterated the UT administration’s commitment to strengthening digital learning infrastructure. He urged teachers to utilize PM eVidya channels as a powerful tool for enhancing classroom practices and student outcomes.
    The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Principal Sh. S.D. Namgyal of DIET Kargil, acknowledging the guidance of dignitaries, the dedication of trainers, and the enthusiastic participation of teachers. The workshop will continue for four days from 8th June 2026 to 11th June 2026, with technical sessions, interactive discussions, and hands-on training,
    equipping educators with the skills to create and deliver effective digital content through PM eVidya DTH TV channels.
