Mass Awareness Program on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking held in Trespone.
Kargil, February 07, 2026: The Youth Educational Society Trespone, in collaboration with the District De-Addiction Centre (DDAC) Kargil, religious organizations (IKMT and JUIAKL), and Police Station Sankoo, organized an important Mass Awareness Program on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at Panchayat Ghar-A, Trespone, Kargil. Coaching centre students, parents and members of the local community actively participated in the event.
Syed Raza Razvi, representative of JUIAKL, in his address highlighted the dangerous effects of drug abuse and called for collective cooperation with DDAC and religious organizations to spread awareness among the youth and society.
Dr. Sheikh Ghulam Hussain Abidi, representative of IKMT, delivered a strong message to students and parents on the causes and serious dangers of drug abuse. He emphasized its harmful impact on individuals, families, and society, and urged everyone to fulfill their social and moral responsibilities to prevent the spread of this menace. He also called for close cooperation with the DDAC Kargil, in spreading awareness and guiding the younger generation in the right direction.
Sub-Inspector Feroz Ahmad, SHO Sankoo, highlighted the growing drug menace and explained the legal provisions and actions against drug-related offenses. He urged students to remain alert and stay away from such illegal activities.
Imtiyaz Hussain, Project Manager, DDAC Kargil, highlighted the increasing concern of drug abuse in Kargil District. He informed the participants about the free treatment and rehabilitation facilities available at the DDAC Centre and encouraged those in need to seek timely help. He further advised everyone to remain vigilant and stay away from harmful substances.
Sajjad Hussain, Principal HSS Trespone, addressed the gathering and explained the effects and causes of drug abuse. He emphasized that parents should actively participate in awareness programs, as they play a crucial role in guiding and protecting their children.
Dr. Syed Abbas spoke about how individuals fall into drug addiction and shared preventive measures. He urged parents to maintain strong communication and support with their children. He also appreciated the Youth Educational Society Trespone for organizing such an important awareness initiative.
Executive Councillor Agha Syed Mujtaba addressed the gathering and spoke about the dangers of drugs. He urged parents to participate in such awareness programs in the future and suggested organizing special parent-level awareness sessions. He thanked the Youth Educational Society Trespone for their valuable efforts.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Syed Jamal Chairman of the Youth Educational Society Trespone, who expressed sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Executive Councillor Agha Syed Mujtaba, IKMT, JUIAKL, SHO Sankoo, DDAC Kargil, Principal HSS Trespone, other dignitaries, and supporting organizations for their dedicated efforts in spreading awareness and guiding the younger generation towards a healthy and responsible future.
